When faced with a difficult situation that seems to be out of your control, it is easy to decide that fate has taken its course. After all, you can’t control everything.
This is the message that Jadav Payeng spread to the world as he remarkably revived the Majuli island, located on the Brahmaputra river in the Indian State of Assam’s Jorhat district which had been turned into a wasteland due to erosion.
For 30 years, Jadav walked tirelessly on his own without help to revive the land and has created a 1,000-acre forest home to snakes, monkeys, and elephants alike. Here is his story in the full documentary film below:

1. You are Powerful Beyond your Imagination
If you think you can’t make a difference, then you have got it all wrong.
It’s not just Jadav that has shown us that we are powerful beyond measure, but you can read the story of Dashrath Manjhi who built a road on the mountain all by himself.
Limitations are just a product of one’s thoughts. Anything is indeed possible! Whatever you believe, you will surely achieve.
Don’t be fooled by your limitations. You have got a gift that can make the world a better place. You are not just an empty space but you matter to the world.
2. Consistency is the Greatest Determining Factor to Success
You want to make a change in your world. You would like to do something that will make the world a better place.
Wishes are not horses. Thinking about making a difference is not going to produce any result without action.
No matter how solid or foolproof your plan seems to be, it’s not going to make any difference if you don’t get your hands dirty.
Jadav did not just wish that the Majuli island be revived nor did he wait for any intervention, he decided to do something about it.
He worked consistently for 30 years till he was able to create a forest out of the wasteland.
If you have a dream that you want to achieve and you don’t know what to do or where to start, the simplest solution is just to start today and with time, your dream will come to shape.
