5 Thought Provoking Questions That Will Challenge You

A  cocoon of a butterfly was once found by a man . A day came that a small opening appeared in the cocoon. This made the man so curious that he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours, as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

At a time,  the butterfly seemed to stop making any progress. It was as if it had reached its limit and could go no farther. The man then decided to help the butterfly and took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon which made the butterfly emerge so easily.

But then the butterfly developed a swollen body and small shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would grow and expand to support the body, and would contract in time.

However this never happened! instead, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.

Why did this occur? Why couldn’t the butterfly grow wings and fly?

What the man did not realize is that, in his kindness and haste, he did not understand that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

We need challenges in our daily lives. Without challenges, we will be crippled and never be able to reach our potential. We would never be able to overcome obstacles to climb to greater heights.

Never take for granted the challenges that happen in your life. No matter how little or insignificant it might seem, challenges have the power to cause change.

Quality questions do create a quality life. It is said that when one asks a better question, he will definitely get better answers. Asking questions awakens our potentials as humans; it has a way of questioning our mind filters.

Finding one’s sense of identity can be confusing. After all, when you were a kid, such concept is oblivious to you. In your teen years, you are still confused about it and now as an adult, you are still searching.

What is Right and Wrong?

Surprised! I bet you are. What has right and wrong got to do with challenges or even change. Do you know that what you think is right and wrong affects your mindset and daily living.

I read an interesting article by Yvonne where she talked about Self Reflection. In that post, she pointed out two kinds of people when it comes to right and wrong:

1. People who sabotage things in their lives by thinking they are wrong all the time. They are people with bad luck.

 2. People who feel they are right all the time even when it is obvious that they are wrong. These people are in self deception.

So which person are you? Are you bound by circumstances or are you manipulative and cocky? No matter who you are, the good news that you can make a change in your life.

So while you list out those things in your life that are right and wrong , just remember this wisdom- As you think in your heart so you become.

What gives you Joy and what makes you Tick?

There are certain things in your live that gives you Joy. Some call it Love, others call it Passion. Now I am not talking about happiness as some people think that Joy and happiness are the same.

Being happy is an external thing that can be activated by an external stimuli. You can be happy when you have a good meal, a nice sleep, or you are experiencing a wonderful day even the weather can make you happy. Joy other the other hand, comes from within and is never defined by any situation. 

So when Joy becomes sour, nerves becomes tense and then everything in your life becomes a struggle. You don’t want to let that happen to you but rather steer in the direction of your Joy.

So as you discover who you are, what excites you or what stirs your passion, know that Joy is an energy booster and it will challenge you to grow, to learn more, to become more and to give more.


What is your Deepest Fear?

Fear has a way of deceiving our soul; it is no wonder that it has the popular acronym- False Evidence Appearing Real. 

Fear truly is an illusion. Sadly, it is one of the top emotions in humans. Though Fear can be a good thing sometimes,  when it comes to being alert and averting danger but if you allow fear to stay dominantly in your thoughts, you are going to keep experiencing false realities.

May be you have false realities that you will never succeed even though you have never taken any risk?

Are you holding on to past failures which you use to justify the fear of future failure without even trying to learn and adapt? Do you build up anxiety that keeps re-experiencing failure in advance?

You need to stop this as it is a waste. You need to seek out your fear and analyse your thoughts- you have the power to do this.
